Forming a Community of Transformation
The GATHER project aims to increase the effectiveness of and sustain organizational change efforts aimed at diversity, equity, inclusion, and justice goals by instigating a cross-institutional Community of Transformation, through which we will foster commitment to and capacity for creating DEIJ-oriented systems change in STEM education.
The TRIPLE Change Framework
The TRIPLE (Theories and Research on Intersectional Power, Learning, and Evolutionary) Change Framework provides the starting point for the development of a CoT of change agents who seek to make DEIJ changes in university-based STEM education. The TRIPLE Change Framework provides guidance for creating organizational change by attending to situated understandings of learning and an intersectional approach to power. Through in-person workshops, regular virtual gatherings, and informal interactions fostered by the CoT, CoT members will have opportunities to share the expertise they have developed as members of NSF ADVANCE, RED, INCLUDES, and IUSE leadership teams with each other, as well as learn more about how the TRIPLE Change Framework and storycrafting practices could guide the design, implementation, and evaluation of systems change efforts in STEM education.
